Climate and Soil : Aloe Vera grows in a wide range of climatic conditions. It prefers , well-drained soils ,sandy or loamy and can grow in nutritionally poor soil, but thrives on rich soils.Established plants will survive drought quite well even though the root system is relatively shallow. Aloe vera is not very frost-hardy, but will survive a temperature of –3°C with only slight injury. It should be planted in full sun or light shade. During the winter months in the subtropics, the plant becomes dormant and utilizes very little moisture.
Aloe is grown in warm tropical areas and cannot survive freezing temperatures. Aloe Vera can be cultivated on any soil for ‘dry land management’ sandy loamy soil is the best suited for it.

PROCESS OF CULTIVATING OF ALOE VERA
The ground is to be carefully prepared to keep free from weeds and the soil is ideally kept ideally slightly acidic. The soil should be supplied supplement in the form of ammonium nitrate & Farm yard manure every year.
The plants are set spaced out by 24 inches in rows and between the rows. At that rate, about 10,000 plants are set per acre. An 7 – 11 inch aloe pop would take about 18 – 24 months to fully mature.
The plants, in a year’s time, would bear flowers that are bright yellow in colour. The leaves are 1 to 2 feet long and are cut without causing damage to the plant, so that it lasts for several years.
The leaves cut off close to the plant are placed immediately, with the cut end downwards, in a V-shaped wooden trough of about 4 feet long and 12 to 18 inches deep.

Fertilize
In general, crop manure (FYM or compost) that respond well to the application. FYM about 10 to 12 tons per hectare in the soil at the time of preparation and may also be applied in the following years. If wood ash is available in sufficient quantities, it can be applied at planting time pits because it helps the plants and their subsequent growlh.
Crop irrigation withstands stress condition very well, but the good harvest in important stages of development, to get irrigation should be recommended as below.
1.  Apply the first irrigation after planting .
2. Until the plants are irrigated 2-3, 4-7 irrigation per year may be sufficient for its proper development or depend on environment.
3. Depending on the availability of water, the leaves give light irrigation after each picking.
Inter-culture growing area during the operation should be kept free of weeds. Long handeled gardening tool weeding every year, followed by three or four hands weedings promote growth and suckering. Remove diseased plants regularly.

Insect-pests and diseases
The mealy bug ,leaf spot and anthracnose have been reported from some parts of the country are not a big problem. If there is a termite problem, it can be managed by applying light irrigation.
From the second year of planting, harvesting and yield commercial production is available for the fifth year. Typically 3-4 per year pickings can be taken, depending on the development. An average 15-20 t / ha of fresh leaves for the extraction of juice for your cultivation.Fully developed mature leaves should be harvested fully adopting recommended practices can be obtained from the second year of plantation.
